Q. What is child sexual abuse exactly?
CSEC and child sexual abuse refers to sexual abuse of a child by an adult or some other person significantly older in the position of power or control over the child where child and especially are used for sexual stimulation of another person. Q. Are there a typical profiles of someone who sexually abuses children and CSEC?
No. It’s difficult to identify the perpetrators from their outer structure. People who may sexually abuse children are also from the family, relatives and neighbors. They come from all classes, racial and religious backgrounds and may be homosexual or heterosexual. Most of those we know about who sexually abuse children are men, but few are women too.

Q. What is the effects of child sexual abuse?

Physical – Difficulties in walking, Sign of unexplained genital injury, Vaginal or penile discharge Pregnancy (in case of a girl), Fear with adults unnecessarily

Q. Is child sexual abuse really such a big problem?
Yes. According to the world record one in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused. Then think once how critical the issue is.

Q. What is Child Pornography?
Child pornography refers to images or films including sexually explicit photographs, negatives, slides, magazines, movies, videotapes and computer disks depicting sexually explicit activities involving a child, as such, child pornography are a visual record of child sexual abuse. Child pornography is inseparable from the sexual abuse of children. Uncomfortable photos and information are automatically arrived in the email address. To attract the children sexually this type of files and sites are automatically arrived in spasm, pop-ups and deception. Child pornography falls into two categories.

Q. Does KCDC support the victims of Child Sexual Abuse and CSEC?
Yes. It also provides required supports in the legal action and psycho social support to the victim. As per the need, KCDC also provides support in the long term and emergency basis for the victims.
Q. Who is more likely to become a destitute child, street child and poor children?
Children who are separated from their families and who run away from their families to escape from violence and abuse are become helpless and street children. Children employed as laborers in restaurants, factories, transportation services, domestic workers, porters and rag pickers; they are all exposed to exploitation and abuse due to the long working hours, work load, low wages and verbal and physical harassment. Children who don’t go to school.

Q. What compels children to choose commercial sexual and street life?
Poverty of family, family Environment, family violence, alcoholic parents, death of one or both parents, remarriage of parents, negligence and rejection, lack of adequate love, care from family members. Other reasons such as extreme poverty, famine, lack of education and poverty, attraction of city life, natural or manmade disaster vulnerable.

Q. What is a CSEC and street child?
Any boy or a girl who has not reached adulthood, for whom the street and domestic workers in the broadest sense of the word, including unoccupied dwellings, wasteland etc and it has become his or her habitual abode and sources of livelihood, who is inadequately protected, supervised and directed by responsible adults.
